I was lucky enough to win the Magnolia Bursary in 2007 (feels like a lifetime ago!!!) which took me to Bristol University to study Drama. At the time I was desperate to be a movie actress and previous to Uni I had pursued every AmDram endeavour under the sun (namely at the Blackmore Theatre and Centre Stage). Whilst I have done also a fair bit of dancing and at the time vocal coaching I felt very out of place within the 'reality' of the Drama community and what would it would really require of me to pursue that career. Whilst I finished my degree, dabbling in screenplay writing, directing, editing and lastly making my own 6 minute short, in my second year I decided I wasn't cut out for Drama and equally, it wasn't going to be good enough for me. I wanted a career, something I could invest a lot of work into and see the fruits of my labour.

After taking a committed interest in Lloyds Banking Group from a careers fair in Uni, I managed to get onto their General Management internship in the summer of 2009 and after a successful 10 weeks there, was accepted onto the Graduate Leadership Scheme starting the following year, in the September of 2010. I knew exactly what I wanted from this banking experience, which was to have the opportunity to work but also learn simultaneously without having to fork out for another degree in all the business-y things my previous education could not provide me with. The Scheme had 4 rotations lasting 6 months each during which I worked in Retail Marketing, Operational Risk, Corporate Relationship Support and lastly as an Area Support Manager. The Scheme was really what you made of it, my intake was very blessed with travel opportunities all around the world when Lloyds still had international offices - including Miami, Bangalore, Dubai and Geneva. For my part, I was in Bristol for one placement and London for the rest. When I received my promotion from the Scheme it was also in London; this time as a Project Manager in Wealth.

So if you're wondering where all this windy road of experience could possibly have propelled me too, I have been fortunate enough to be accepted onto an MBA Programme in Canada after which I would like to set up my own creative enterprise!!! For the moment, I am excitedly entertaining the thought of being a Wedding Planner, to allow me to exercise both my creativity and imagination as well as the business acumen I have picked up along the way.
